Hello,
I'm Alessandro Scarpetti.
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in January 1987.
I've been married to Sonoto and Alessia since 2014, and we have a son (who isn't diabetic) named Alberto since 2016.
I provide software support for a Buffetti dealer... My passions are travel, photography, and art in general.
Diabetes has been an integral part of my life since I was a teenager.... I'd rather not have it, but we've been living together for so many years now that we've learned to tolerate each other!
I often come across websites or YouTube videos by other diabetics showing how to attach a sensor or a pump...often in "unlikely" places. I wonder what the hell it's all about? As a diabetic, I'm not really interested (I put a sensor on every 15 days, and seeing someone else apply it doesn't do me any good... For a non-diabetic person, seeing how a sensor is applied might satisfy a curiosity that, however, is already forgotten after 10 seconds. Instead, wanting to try to give something to others, I thought I'd publish my daily diary... The diary that all diabetics keep constantly. I decided to publish it online for my own personal memory and so that other diabetics (or their family members) can draw inspiration and perhaps improve their profiles.
This page is the English translation of my Italian blog.
Disclaimer
This blog doesn't talk about miracle cures or how to cure diabetes. I don't have, and don't claim to have, the knowledge to tell you what to do or how to behave... I'm only sharing my experiences in the hope they can be of help to other diabetics or their families.
Unfortunately, there's no definitive cure yet, and I don't think one will be found anytime soon.
Any comments on this blog's posts that are offensive, derogatory, or inconsistent with officially recognized therapies will be removed without question... Otherwise, feel free to comment and share your experiences if you wish.
